The BEST Transportation Subcommittee is looking at potential ways to reduce transportation costs by, e.g., partnering with a local town to purchase fuel for school buses, thereby eliminating the cost of state and federal fuel taxes; assigning students by geography, rather than purely by Town boundaries; and developing a proposal to state regulators that would allow the District greater flexibility in how we organize transportation and get our students to school.
